Eastern to Hold 3 'University Hour' Events in March
Willimantic, CT (02/21/2020) — Eastern Connecticut State University continues its weekly University Hour series through the month of March with three cultural events that are free and open to the public. Each occurs on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Student Center Theatre.
On March 4, New York artist Bishakh Som will express how she expands the themes of gender, sexuality, memory and urbanism through graphic novel and comics. Her work includes exploring the correlation between image and text, figure and architecture, and architecture and landscape.
On March 11, Judy Dworin will present "New Beginnings: Justice Alternatives Through the Arts with Judy Dworin." In this discussion, Dworin will share her innovative arts outreach for women at the York Correctional Institution, men at the Cybulski Community Reintegration Center and individuals returning from York and Cybulski to their communities.
On March 25, the Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra will perform original compositions produced by students enrolled in the study of music composition.
