Media Advisory: Eastern Commencement Today in Hartford XL Center

Willimantic, CT (05/21/2019) — Eastern Connecticut State University will hold its 129th Commencement Exercises today, Tuesday, May 21, at the XL Center in Hartford. The processional begins at 6 p.m. More than 1,200 undergraduate and graduate students from the class of 2019 will receive their diplomas. Chief Marilynn "Lynn" Malerba of the Mohegan Tribe will deliver the Commencement address. Other dignitaries expected to attend include Eastern President Elsa Núñez; Mark Ojakian, president of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities System; and Merle Harris, vice-chair of the Board of Regents for Higher Education. Members of the media are encouraged to attend, and should plan to be on site by 5:30 p.m.
