Singer Hunter Hayes to perform fall concert on Shaboo Stage

Willimantic, CT (09/13/2023) — Eastern Connecticut State University will host musician Hunter Hayes on Sept. 24 on Shaboo Stage in downtown Willimantic as part of its annual fall festival.

Hayes is a multi-genre singer-songwriter, performing songs ranging in style from country to R&B. His performance in Willimantic will support a new album he released earlier this year, titled "Red Sky."

Hayes's 2011 single "Wanted" made him the youngest man to top the Billboard Hot Country Songs. Hayes won the 2012 Country Music Association (CMA) Award for New Artist of the Year. He has also won three Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) Awards and has been nominated for five Grammy Awards.

Doors open at 3 p.m., with Hayes taking the stage at 5 p.m. Food trucks and concessions will also be on site for the event.

"This concert is a great opportunity for both students and the community," said Alyssa Duffy, associate director of student activities at Eastern. She added that having "an artist of Hunter's caliber" perform in Willimantic is exciting for all involved. We're looking forward to seeing it bring everyone together."

Tickets are $10 for Eastern students; $15 for guests of students; and $30 for the general public. To purchase tickets, visit https://easternstutickets.showare.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=250
