Amy Dziewaltowski Featured in Senior Art Exhibition

2017 May 12

The Department of Art and Art History at Eastern Connecticut State University hosted its annual Senior Art Exhibition and Awards Ceremony this May. Graduating student artists were recognized and their work was on display in the Art Gallery from May 5-15.

Among the featured artists was Amy Dziewaltowski '17 of Coventry, who majors in Business Administration and Visual Arts and concentrates in painting and drawing. "My piece titled, 'Tree of Eden,' was inspired by the story of Adam and Eve," said Dziewaltowski. "Although I'm not a super religious person I find deep life lessons and interesting symbolization in biblical stories. So I created this idea of a twisted, gnarly tree that's both ominous and beautiful. There's a lot of symbolization open for interpretation. I like making art that makes people think. This project was originally a drawing during my senior year of high school, so it really was a full circle and symbolic experience."

The exhibition is exclusive to senior visual arts majors who have successfully completed a senior project in their concentration--digital art and design, drawing and painting, printmaking, sculpture, and illustration.
