Brandan Sumeersarnauth of Stafford Springs Newly Enrolled at Eastern Connecticut State University For Spring 2013 Semester

2013 Jan 22

Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its list of newly enrolled students for the spring 2013 semester. Brandan Sumeersarnauth of Stafford Springs, CT, is attending Eastern this spring. Sumeersarnauth's major is Environmental Earth Science.

"We are pleased that Brandan has decided to attend Eastern and has the opportunity to experience the benefits of our liberal arts education while enjoying student life on our beautiful campus," said Ned Harris, director of enrollment management. Harris notes that Eastern students come from 162 of Connecticut's 169 towns, from 26 other states and from 44 other countries.

Founded in 1889 as a two-year normal school training elementary schoolteachers for jobs in Connecticut schools, Eastern has grown to become a comprehensive, master's degree-granting institution of approximately 5,400 students recognized by such publications as U.S. News and World Report and the Princeton Review.

Approximately 60 percent of students live on campus, enjoying the small classes, more than 70 student clubs and vibrant campus culture found at Eastern. Focusing on undergraduate education as Connecticut's only public liberal arts university, the University combines a strong liberal arts curriculum with experiential learning opportunities - internships, student research and community service - to prepare graduates for successful careers in a variety of professional fields.
