2015 Feb 18

Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its list of newly enrolled part-time students for the spring 2015 semester. Christopher Pellegrino of Pawcatuck, CT, is attending Eastern this spring.

"We are pleased that Christopher has decided to attend Eastern and has the opportunity to experience the benefits of our liberal arts education while enjoying student life on our beautiful campus," said Chris Dorsey, interim director of admissions. Dorsey notes that Eastern students come from 161 of Connecticut's 169 towns, from 23 other states and 52 other countries.

Founded in 1889 as a two-year normal school training elementary schoolteachers for jobs in Connecticut schools, Eastern has grown to become a comprehensive, master's degree-granting institution recognized by such publications as U.S. News and World Report and the Princeton Review.

Approximately 59 percent of students live on campus, enjoying the small classes, numerous clubs and vibrant campus culture found at Eastern. Focusing on undergraduate education, the University combines a strong liberal arts curriculum with experiential learning opportunities - internships, student research and community service - to prepare graduates for successful careers in a variety of professional fields.
