Eastern Basketball Player Tarchee Brown Selected to D3hoops.com All-Region Team

2017 Apr 4

Eastern Connecticut State University junior guard Tarchee Brown '18 of Vernon and senior forward Hugh Lindo '17 of Enfield have been selected to the 16th annual D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region men's basketball team.

Brown, who majors in Sociology, was recognized on the team for the first time, earning fourth-team honors. Lindo follows last year's selection as a third-team pick by becoming the program's first first-teamer. A total of 20 players were selected to the D3hoops.com team, five to each of four teams. A total of 723 players were nominated nationwide to the eight all-region teams.

With Lindo and Brown this past year, Eastern (21-9) won its fourth straight LEC regular-season title and captured the LEC tournament championship. The Warriors won all seven of their LEC regular-season home games for the fourth straight year. Both Lindo and Brown repeated as first-team All-LEC selections.

This past year, Lindo set personal season-highs in scoring (15.1) and rebounding (12.6) averages. In the LEC, he was first in rebounding average, fourth in field goal percentage (56.1) and fourth in block shot average (1.3). He currently ranks in a tie for third nationally in double-doubles (21) and sixth in rebounding.

Lindo left the program as the all-time rebounding (1,296) and blocked shot leaders (183) and scored over 1,000-points (1,288) with a 56.0 career field goal percentage.

Brown led the Little East in scoring with a career-high average of 18.5 - the program's third-highest season average since Rich Vega (18.8) 15 years ago. Brown's final point total of 556 was the third-highest in program history, highest since Rossie Covington (565) 24 years ago. Brown also tied his personal season high of 53 three-pointers - third-best in the LEC.

Entering his final season, Brown ranks ninth all-time at Eastern in points (1,376), needing 282 to break the all-time record of 1,657 set by Nick Nedwick from 2008-12. Brown is also fifth all-time with 152 career three-pointers.
