Eastern Connecticut State University History Student Lauren Grenier of Scotland Published in Germina Veris

2017 Mar 13

Lauren Grenier '16 of Scotland was one of the students whose research was published in Germina Veris, the University's peer-reviewed online, open-access journal that is dedicated to publishing outstanding research undertaken by Eastern history majors. Grenier's reseach essay is titled "We Are Not and Dare Not Be a Hyphenated Group: Hartford's Jewish Women, Refugee Assistance and American Identity in the 1930s."

The peer review process that qualifies seniors for being accepted for publication in the journal involves specialists from Eastern and beyond. The journal's editorial board's focus is to present outstanding, original essays to the general public. History Professors Anna Kirchmann and Jamel Ostwald functioned as mentors for the students' senior seminar papers that underwent a rigorous outside review process before being selected for publication.
