Eastern Connecticut State University Student Jessie Kohn of Columbia, Participates in Study Abroad Program

2013 Apr 2

A number of Eastern Connecticut State University students participated in the Study Abroad Program during the fall 2012 semester. Study Abroad allows students to gain cultural insight while living in a host country for a full semester or academic year. Students attend a university in their country, take classes, and earn Eastern credits.

Jessie Kohn '14 of Columbia, CT, studied at University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. Kohn's major is Visual Arts.

According to Kohn, "With Eastern being literally 10 minutes away from my house and family, I never in my life imagined I would be able to study abroad a continent away for an entire semester! Now, having successfully completed 6 months abroad, living alone and being faced with various obstacles, I am overwhelmed with a sense of accomplishment. I'm proud to say that I feel like there's nothing I can't take on and carry out with ease."

Study Abroad engages students in global awareness through international study. The program promotes worldwide education and opportunity to travel and experience a new culture. Study Abroad values diversity, education, and international cooperation.
