Eastern Connecticut State University Student Katie George of Danbury, Participates in Study Abroad Program

2013 Apr 2

A number of Eastern Connecticut State University students participated in the Study Abroad Program during the fall 2012 semester. Study Abroad allows students to gain cultural insight while living in a host country for a full semester or academic year. Students attend a university in their country, take classes, and earn Eastern credits.

Katie George '14 of Danbury, CT, studied at University of Central Lancashire in Preston, England. George's major is Communication.

According to George, "I felt like I needed to see a different part of the world to fully understand that whatever you can dream up, or think about, there really is a place for it, and it's completely within reach; you just have to find the way to get there. Being in England was the most life changing experience I've ever been through. I would definitely do it all over again."

Study Abroad engages students in global awareness through international study. The program promotes worldwide education and opportunity to travel and experience a new culture. Study Abroad values diversity, education, and international cooperation.
