Eastern Connecticut State University Student Laura Markley of Preston Participates in 14th Annual Arts and Sciences Research Conference

Eastern Connecticut State University held its 14th Annual Arts and Sciences Research Conference and Exhibition at the end of the spring semester. The event featured oral and visual presentations of student-led scientific research and artwork. More than 50 presentations were delivered by students from a range of academic departments.
Laura Markley '15 of Preston, CT, presented a research project at the event. Markley's major is Environmental Earth Science and the faculty mentor was Meredith Metcalf and Peter Drzewiecki. The project's title was "Evaluating Population, Natural Resources, and Coastal Areas Susceptible to Sea-Level Rise in Bangladesh" (Metcalf) and "Sea Level and Tectonic Controls on the Development of the Santonian Collades de Basturs Carbonate Platform, South-Central Pyrenees, Spain." (Drzewiecki)
