Eastern Connecticut State University Student Nicholas Mills of Bozrah, Participates in Study Abroad Program

2013 Apr 2

A number of Eastern Connecticut State University students participated in the Study Abroad Program during the fall 2012 semester. Study Abroad allows students to gain cultural insight while living in a host country for a full semester or academic year. Students attend a university in their country, take classes, and earn Eastern credits.

Nicholas Mills '13 of Bozrah, CT, studied at Universidad Veritas in San José, Costa Rica. Mills's major is Biology.

According to Mills, "My experience in Costa Rica was pretty amazing. To be able to see so many different types of ecosystems (cloud rainforest to tropical dry forests) and all of the biodiversity in such a small country, is to me, what makes Costa Rica special. The culture was very different than here in the states, very personal with an emphasis on enjoying the small things in life. They definitely stay true to Costa Rica's favorite saying... Pura Vida!"

Study Abroad engages students in global awareness through international study. The program promotes worldwide education and opportunity to travel and experience a new culture. Study Abroad values diversity, education, and international cooperation.
