Eastern Connecticut State University Student Renae St. John of Jewett City Awarded Prestigious ECSU Foundation Scholarship

Eastern Connecticut State University recently announced its list of ECSU Foundation Scholarship awardees for the 2013-14 academic year.

Renae St. John '12 of Jewett City, CT, was awarded the Mae K. Kaplitz Memorial Music Scholarship. St. John's major is Music and English.

More than 325 Eastern students received ECSU Foundation Scholarships at a special reception on April 11. The total amount of scholarship funds awarded by the ECSU Foundation totaled more than $500,000, a record amount.

The ECSU Foundation's scholarship awards are coordinated by the Office of Institutional Advancement. According to Kenneth DeLisa, vice president for institutional advancement, "ECSU Foundation scholarships recognize students in good academic standing and help provide important financial support so that our students can reach their goal of obtaining a college degree. Our ability to provide this level of scholarship support is due to the generosity of alumni and other donors, who recognize the value of investing in today's students as they prepare to be tomorrow's citizen leaders."
