Eastern Connecticut State University's, Adrianna Mihalek, Named LEC Offensive Player-of-the-Week For Volleyball

Adrianna Mihalek '17, from Woodbury, majoring in Communication, was named Little East Conference Offensive Player-of-the-Week for volleyball.

Mihalek is the third player from the volleyball program to gain a selection when she was tabbed Offensive Player-of-the-Week in the fifth weekly report. second for Mihalek, who was named Rookie-of-the-Week once last year on the way to becoming the program's first Rookie-of-the-Year and first-team All-LEC pick in ten years.

The 5-foot-8 inch Mihalek attacked at .310, averaged 4.14 kills per set and 4.96 points in a 3-1 week which included a four-set victory over Western New England University, ranked 12th in New England. Mihalek also topped all Eastern players with nine service aces. In helping the Warriors place second in its own Crabtree Classic this past weekend, Mihalek totaled 46 kills with a .307 attack percentage and added six service aces. In the win over regionally-ranked Western New England, Mihalek had 12 kills and a .321 attack percentage with three service aces. In a sweep of University of New England at the Crabtree Classic, Mihalek had a season-high 21 kills with a .459 attack percentage with two service aces.

Mihalek ranks second in the LEC in kills per set (3.15) and tied for eighth in aces per set (0.48).
