2015 Nov 16

Adrianna Mihalek '17, of Woodbury majoring in Political Science, was named Little East Conference All-LEC Second Team for the sport of volleyball.

Mihalek has become just the second player in program history to be selected to the All-Little East Conference women's volleyball team three times. Mihalek was named to the second team this year after two seasons on the first team.

The 5-foot-8 inch Mihalek is ranked fourth in the conference in total overall kills (304) and fifth in kills per set (2.87). The 5-foot-7 inch Luppi is the LEC leader in digs (523) and is second in digs per set (5.03), is fourth in service aces per set (0.48) and tied for fourth in service aces (50).

This past fall, Mihalek became the ninth player in program history to record as many as 1,000 career kills and concluded her third season with a total of 1,060, an average of 3.18 per set. She needs 322 in her senior year to break the current mark of 1,381 (she has averaged 353 each season of her career). Mihalek is also ranked third all-time at Eastern with 3,261 attack attempts, 763 behind the all-time leader. Mihalek was named to the all-tournament team this year at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Sept. 4-5.

Eastern wrapped up its second season under head coach Megan Silver Droesch with an overall 12-17 record. The Warriors were tied for fifth in the conference (3-4) and as the No. 5 seed, lost their LEC playoff opener in five sets at No. 4 Western Connecticut State University.
