Eastern Connecticut State University's Alexandra Kallgren Named Little East Conference Field Hockey All-LEC Second Team

2015 Nov 16

Alexandra Kallgren '18, of Dudley majoring in Physical Education, was named Little East Conference All-LEC second team for the sport of field hockey for the second time in two years.

Kallgren is ranked in a tie for second in the conference in points (29) and in a tie for third in goals (12) but lead the Warriors in these categories.

Kallgren's 29 points tied the 14-year-old Eastern season record and her 12 goals equaled the second-most in a season in program history.

Under Coach Christine Hutchison, the Warriors finished fourth in the 12-team conference after being picked for ninth and advanced to the LEC championship game for the first time with first and semifinal-round home wins - their first LEC home playoff matches ever. The team's finish in the LEC regular season and LEC regular-season wins (8) were both high-water marks for the program.

As a team, the Warriors are ranked second in goals (47) and assists (33), second in goals-against average (1.44) and third in least goals allowed (29) in the conference. Eastern set numerous season records, among them for wins, consecutive wins (6), goals (41), assists (33), points (127), shots (358), shutouts (6), penalty corners (201) fewest shots allowed (169) and home wins (9).
