Eastern Connecticut State University's Emily Becher Named Little East Conference Women's Soccer All-LEC First Team

2015 Nov 16

Emily Becher '18, of Brooklyn majoring in Political Science, was named Little East Conference All-LEC first team in the sport of women's soccer, becoming one of the first two players in program history to gain first-team distinction in both her freshmen and sophomore seasons.

Becher was additionally cited as LEC Rookie-of-the-Year and later as a fourth-team All-New England Region pick. Becher started all 18 matches this year, totaling more than 1,400 minutes.

Becher had a point in 13 of 18 matches and eight of nine in one stretch. She currently leads the conference in points (33) and goals (15), which is five points and four goals ahead of LEC Offensive Player-of-the-Year Autumn Sorice of Western Connecticut, which plays Saturday in the NCAA tournament. Becher, who has two of the top five season goal totals in program history, ranks fourth all-time with 33 career goals and eighth with 70 points. Her 13 game-winning goals rank third all-time.

Eastern women's soccer team was top seed in the Little East Conference playoffs. The women won all seven of their LEC contests, for the first time ever, capturing their sixth regular-season title in 16 years under D'Ambrosio, and closed out with an overall record of 13-4-1. The women lost in the semifinal round of the playoffs.
