Eastern Connecticut State University's Emily Becher Named NCAA Division III All-New England Region Team

2015 Dec 7

Emily Becher '18, of Brooklyn majoring in Political Science, was named to the NCAA Division III All-New England Region Team by the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA), becoming the first player in program history to earn all-region mention in each of her first two seasons. Becher was named as a second-team forward this year after being voted to the fourth team as a freshman last year.

Last month, Becher became one of the first two players in program history to gain first-team All-Little East Conference distinction in both her freshmen and sophomore seasons.

Becher started all 18 of the team's matches this year and compiled more than 1,400 minutes, having a point in 13 matches and eight of nine in one stretch, and led the conference in points (33) and goals (15), which was five points and four goals ahead of Western Connecticut's LEC Offensive Player-of-the-Year Autumn Sorice, a third-team all-region pick at forward.

Becher, who has two of the top five season goal totals in program history, ranks fourth all-time with 33 career goals and eighth with 70 points. Her 13 game-winning goals rank third all-time.
