Eastern Connecticut State University's Lauren Polansky Named Little East Conference Women's Field Athlete-of-the-Week

Lauren Polansky '17, of Milford majoring in Environmental Earth Science, was named Little East Conference Women's Field Athlete-of-the-Week for the first time in her career.

Polansky smashed her previous personal best with a winning mark of 42.59 meters (139-9) in the hammer throw at the Eighth Annual Eastern Connecticut State University Invitational Friday. She exceeded her previous best by nearly 30 feet in the event, bettering a group of eight competitors. She also finished second in a field of 12 in the shot put with a mark of 10.61 meters (34-9 ), sharing the team lead with 18 points. The Warriors were second in the meet.

The track and field teams compete in the Little East Conference/New England Alliance Championships Saturday at 11 a.m. at Fitchburg State University.
