Eastern Connecticut State University's Maggie Bodington Named LEC Defensive Player-of-the-Week

Maggie Bodington '18, of Stratford majoring in Physical Education, is named Little East Conference Defensive Player-of-the-Week for women's soccer.

Bodington played all 180 minutes in a 2-0-0 week in which the Warriors gave up only one goal, allowing only six shots to reach net. In addition to her defense, Bodington assisted on the game-winning goal with a corner kick which was headed in by sophomore Hailey Lehning in the final six minutes of a 2-1 victory over Amherst College, New England's No.-1 ranked team.

This year, Bodington has started the team's last ten matches, having played the entire match in eight of the last nine.

Thus far this fall, Eastern athletes have been recognized with Little East weekly awards a total of 18 times in the sports of soccer, field hockey, women's volleyball and cross country.
