Eastern Connecticut State University's Maggie Bodington Named Little East Conference Women's Soccer All-LEC First Team

2015 Nov 16

Maggie Bodington '18, of Stratford majoring in Physical Education, was named Little East Conference All-LEC first team in the sport of women's soccer, becoming one of the first two players in program history to gain first-team distinction in both her freshmen and sophomore seasons.

Bodington started all 18 matches this year, totaling more than 1,400 minutes.

Bodington leads the LEC with ten assists (to go along with four goals) - equaling the fifth-highest assist total in a season in program history. With Bodington on the back line, Eastern ranks second in the conference in least overall goals allowed (19), one behind the leader, and second with eight shutouts. Warriors gave up only six goals in their final seven games, only one team managing more than one.

Eastern women's soccer team was top seed in the Little East Conference playoffs. The women won all seven of their LEC contests, for the first time ever, capturing their sixth regular-season title in 16 years under D'Ambrosio, and closed out with an overall record of 13-4-1. The women lost in the semifinal round of the playoffs.
