Eastern Connecticut State University's Mollee Lasto Named Little East Conference Rookie Swimmer-of-the-Week

Mollee Lasto '19, of Orange majoring in Health Sciences, was named Little East Conference Rookie Swimmer-of-the-Week in the second report of the season.

Five Eastern Connecticut State University individuals representing four intercollegiate programs have been recognized with weekly honors by the Little East Conference for the week ending Nov. 1. The total gives Eastern 25 weekly honorees thus far this year.

Lasto bested 31 other competitors in winning the University of Saint Joseph (CT) Blue Jay Pentathlon this past Friday night, and followed that up the next afternoon at Bridgewater State University by placing second in the 200 individual medley (2:24.23) and 100 backstroke (1:05.92) and swimming the opening leg of the 200 medley relay (2:04.29) which also placed second. In her collegiate debut at the USJ Pentathlon, Lasto's time of 5:46.21 in five 100 yard events was just under six seconds faster than sophomore Erika Sheinhait of Western New England University. Lasto won the backstroke (1:05.80) and individual medley (1:09:21) and was second in the freestyle (1:00.28). Lasto additionally swam the final leg of the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:49.47) and the opening leg of the winning 200 medley relay (2:06.49), the latter relay comprised entirely of freshmen.

The swim team competes at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Louise Goodrum Invitational Saturday at noon.
