Eastern Connecticut State University's Tarchee Brown Named Little East Conference Rookie-of-the-Week in Men's Basketball

Tarchee Brown '18, from Vernon majoring in Physical Education, was named Little East Conference Rookie-of-the-Week in men's basketball for the fourth time in eight weeks.

In two Little East Conference wins which came by an average of 19 points, Brown averaged 15.5 points and 8.5 rebounds as the Warriors (13-3, 5-0 LEC) extended their streak of regular-season conference wins to 24. In a 20-point victory over UMass Dartmouth, Brown led both teams with ten rebounds to go along with 13 points and three assists. In an 18-point win over the University of Southern Maine, Brown led both teams with 18 points and topped the Warriors with seven rebounds.

For the week, Brown shot 52.0 percent from the floor and averaged 15.5 points and 8.5 rebounds.He was also 5-for-9 from three-point range and turned the ball over only once in 64 minutes.

This year, Brown has started all 16 games and shares second on the team in scoring (13.6), is second in three-point field goals (25) and is third in rebounding (5.4). He is shooting 44.5 percent from the floor and 68.2 percent from the foul line and also averages 2.3 assists per game. He is tied for 11th in the conference in scoring and tied for 11th in three-point field goals made.
