Eastern Connecticut State University's Taylor McBride Named Little East Conference Women's Basketball Defensive Player-of-the-Year

Taylor McBride '15, from Willimantic majoring in Sport & Leisure Management, was named women's basketball Little East Conference (LEC) Defensive Player-of-the-Year and was named to the All-Defensive Team for the third straight season.

McBride ranks second in the LEC in assists (4.3), totaling more than 100 for the third time in four years. McBride led the conference in assists-to-turnover ratio (1.8-to-1) after a ratio of just 1.2-to-1 as a freshman and tied for seventh in the conference in steals (1.6). McBride started 16 of 17 games through the LEC tournament after coming off the bench in ten of the first 11 and ranks sixth all-time in assists (422) and assist average (4.0). McBride had a season-high nine assists Jan. 17 at the University of Southern Maine and a season-high ten points when Eastern clinched the LEC tournament's No. 1 seed Feb. 21 against Southern Maine.
