Eastern History Student Adam Murphy of Meriden Presents Research at Phi Alpha Theta Convention

2018 Jan 16

Two Eastern Connecticut State University history students presented their research at the 2018 Phi Alpha Theta Biennial Convention Jan. 3-6 in New Orleans. They were accompanied by History Professor Bradley Davis.

Among the students who participated was Adam Murphy '18 of Meriden, who majors in Political Science and History and Social Science. Murphy, with the help of Professor Davis, created a research paper titled "A Professor's Experience in Indonesia: Examining the Partnership Between University of Kentucky and Bogor Agricultural College 1957-1966."

"I received such information not only from the feedback on my paper from peers, but also from attending other historian's presentations," said Murphy. "This experience has shown me the importance of recognizing student research and allowing them to partake in experiences like these. I would like to thank Eastern for the continued effort to make this a priority."

Phi Alpha Theta's goal is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.
