Eastern Senior Caleb Eriksen Named National Defensive Player of the Week

In pursuit of another North Atlantic title, the Eastern Connecticut State University club football team has depended heavily on defense this season. Senior Caleb Eriksen '18, an outside linebacker/defensive end, has anchored the unit. After an outstanding performance against the University of Hartford, Ericksen was named National Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 1.

Eriksen hails from Clinton and majors in Health Sciences.

On the day Eriksen recorded 12 tackles, including two for a loss of yards. The senior also caught an interception and returned it for a touchdown. By the end of the game, Eriksen's defensive contributions left the University of Hartford team little to work with. The Warriors won in a 40-0 shutout.
