Every year, the Eastern Writers Guild, a student-run club at Eastern Connecticut State University, publishes "Eastern Exposure," a student literary journal that showcases fiction, poetry, plays, scripts and other types of creative writing.

Amanda-Marie Goode '16 of Amston, who majors in Sociology, is featured in this year's journal. Goode's three pieces are titled "Listening to Music with my Father in a Red Toyota," "Growing Up Growing Old" and "Things They Don't Teach You." Goode is an avid reader and spends a lot of her time at the library.

The Eastern Writers Guild is advised by Dan Donaghy, professor of English. Members carefully select the work that is included in each issue of "Eastern Exposure" during the fall semester, and publish it during the spring semester. The goal of the Writers Guild is to promote creative expression among the student body by holding cultural and literary events. They create an open forum for individuals interested in writing and literature.
