2018 Jan 30

After just recently enrolling at Eastern Connecticut State University in January, student-athlete Anna Madeleine Dalberg '20 of Pitea, Sweden made the most of her first collegiate track meet. With only a handful of practices under her belt, she was named the recipient of the Little East Conference Track Rookie-of-the-Week Award for the week of Jan. 21. Dalberg's major is Communication.

Dalberg, who contributed 19 points over three events on Jan. 21, played a major role in the Warrior's second-place finish at the Plymouth State University Invitational on Jan. 20. The freshman not only broke the program's indoor record for the 60 meter hurdles (9.70 seconds), but also placed fourth in the 60 meter (8.47), the sixth-fastest time in Eastern history.

The Little East Conference was established on April 28, 1986 as a single sport league by six public institutions located throughout New England. The LEC member men's and women's basketball teams commenced play in 1986-87 with double round-robin regular season and six-team championship tournament. The Little East Conference has since become a multi-sport league with eight primary members, six affiliate members and 19 championships.
