2017 Sep 15

The Warriors at Eastern Connecticut State University recently named 13 students to the 2017-18 women's cross country team.

Among the athletes is Amanda Terenzi '18 of Coventry, who majors in Social Work.

"This season we have an extremely strong team and coaching staff and we believe we have a shot of winning the Little East Conference," said Terenzi, who is also the senior captain of the team. "Personally, I want to break 19:45 for a 5k this season. Not only do we have a strong team competitively, we have strong team relationships. The team consists of a great group of women that I not only see as teammates, but as my family."

Some of the goals and objectives of the team include becoming LEC seasonal and tournament champions, being undefeated at home and earning a team-average GPA of 3.3.

By placing its highest priority on the overall quality of the liberal arts educational experience, Eastern's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation seeks to integrate its programs and goals with academic and developmental objectives and to assure the assimilation of student-athletes into the general student body.
