Eastern Student-Athlete Jonathan Stearns of Bolton Named to 2017-18 Soccer Team

The Warriors at Eastern Connecticut State University named 25 students to the 2017-18 men's soccer team.

Among the athletes is Jonathan Stearns '18 of Bolton. Stearns's major is Accounting and his position on the team is forward.

"JD is an extremely hardworking player who reads the game well," said Head Coach Greg Devito. "He can beat players on the dribble as well as with his accurate passing. He is amazingly fit and strong. JD will be a significant contributor at center midfield."

Currently the men's soccer team has an overall record of four wins and four losses, with their next contest happening on Sept. 26 against the Salem State Vikings.

By placing its highest priority on the overall quality of the liberal arts educational experience, Eastern's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation seeks to integrate its programs and goals with academic and developmental objectives, and to assure the assimilation of student athletes into the general student body.
