Eastern Student Brett Gelino of Killingworth Presents at New England Psychological Association Conference

2015 Mar 9

Eastern Connecticut State University student Brett Gelino of Killingworth, presented original research at the New England Psychological Association (NEPA) during the fall 2014 semester at Bates College in Maine. Gelino's major is Psychology.

Gelino's project was titled "Atheists and Theists have Similar Physiological Reactivity with Demands of God." Psychology Professor James Diller served as mentor for Gelino’s project. “Professor Diller presented the idea of replicating a study that focused on the difference in physiological responses between atheists and theists,” said Gelino. “My research partner, Robert Barry, and I were invested in the outcome from the very beginning.”

“Presenting at a conference like NEPA was a fantastic experience,” said Gelino. “It was great to see psychology majors from across the region discussing various topics and explaining the outcome of hours of work. I definitely plan to seek out similar conferences in the future.”
