Eastern Student Christopher Gorman '18 of Shrewsbury Receives Little East Conference Lacrosse Goalie of the Week

Eastern Connecticut State University lacrosse player Christopher Gorman '18 of Shrewsbury received Little East Conference Lacrosse Goalie of the Week on March 1st.

In his second collegiate appearance and first career start, Gorman was credited with 17 saves and six ground balls in a 9-3 season-opening non-conference win at Gordon College that provided him with his first collegiate win in his first decision and Goalie-of-the-Week honors from the Little East Conference in the first weekly report of the season.

Gorman gave up two goals in the first 14 minutes of a game where Eastern trailed only after the first goal of the match, then kept the Fighting Scots scoreless for 35 minutes as the Warriors built an 8-2 lead with 11 minutes left.

Gorman had appeared in one match previously, in 2015, as the second of four Eastern goalies in a 16-7 home-opening win over New England College. In that game, Gorman made three saves and allowed two goals in eight minutes.
