Eastern Student Gabriela Wrobel of Ansonia Completes Successful Internship

2016 Jan 12

A number of Eastern students commit to student internships as an on-site practical work experience with a company or organization that can provide them with firsthand knowledge of a career field. The internship is usually related to the student's major or is directly related to the student's career interest. They often complement the student's coursework, can incorporate skills and classroom experience into the workplace and assist the student in developing new abilities and skills.

Gabriela Wrobel '16 of Ansonia attended one of Eastern's internship fairs with hopes that "there was 'something' there for me." Her attention was drawn to a table featuring Enterprise Car Rental. Her interest was sparked and after submitting her resume, she was hired as a management trainee intern.

Wrobel gained marketing, sales and customer service experience by opening and closing contracts on rental cars, selling insurance, working on billing and interacting with customers. She was eventually ranked as one of the top Enterprise management trainee interns in the New York/Connecticut area. Enterprise is interested in her becoming a branch manager when she graduates.
