Eastern Student James Doucette of East Hartford Receives 2016 Travel Grant

2016 Nov 15

Eastern Connecticut State University student James Doucette III '17 received a travel grant from the University to present his research earlier this month in Florida.

Doucette's major is Sport & Leisure Management.

This grant allowed Douchette to present his research, "A Kantian Dilemma: Gender Discrimination toward Contemporary Women's Elite Sport," at the North American Society of Sport 2016 Conference in Tampa, FL, on Nov. 2.

Each year, Eastern allocates funds toward scholarships and grants for students to present their undergraduate research or creative activities at a professional forum. These activities are defined as "Original intellectual or creative contributions to the student's discipline carried out in conjunction with a faculty mentor, culminating in a formal review of that work through presentations, exhibitions, and/or publications." Students can submit an application in order to be considered for the money.
