A number of Eastern Connecticut State University students were recently inducted into Eastern's Sigma Delta Pi Spanish Education Honor Society.

Jennifer Disco '16 of Gales Ferry, CT, was one of the inductees. Disco's major is Spanish.

Qualifications for inductees include three years of college-level Spanish (18 semester credit hours), including at least three semester hours of Hispanic literature or Hispanic culture and civilization at the junior level; a 3.0 GPA in all Spanish courses taken; a ranking in the upper 35 percent of their class and completion of at least three semesters.

Eastern's World Languages and Cultures Department Chair Kin Chan said, "Our inductees have demonstrated a profound interest in the beautiful Spanish language. We have chosen them to be members of our Spanish Honor Society, Sigma Delta Pi, because they have excelled academically and have shown a sincere love for the culture of the Hispanic world."
