Eastern Student Kaitlyn Dirga of Prospect Honored at English Night

Eastern Connecticut State University English enthusiasts gathered on Dec. 6 for English Night, an event that showcases student excellence in the English Department. Hosted by Department Chair Professor Barbara Liu, the event featured a scholarship awards ceremony, the Sigma Tau Delta induction and three Capstone Seminar presentations.

Kaitlyn Dirga '19 of Prospect was one of the students that was recognized at English Night. Dirga's major is Elementary Education and English.

Dirga was inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Delta chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society.

To conclude the ceremony, Professor Liu stressed her pride in the students' achievements and encouraged attendees to ask the students about their accomplishments. The English Night event is held during both the fall and spring semesters.
