Eastern Student Kasandra Kelley of Meriden Inducted into Epsilon Nu chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi

A number of Eastern Connecticut State University students were recently inducted into the Epsilon Nu chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.

The mission of Kappa Delta Pi is to sustain an honored community of diverse educators by promoting excellence and advancing scholarship, leadership and service. Its vision is to help committed educators to be leaders in improving education for global citizenship.

Kasandra Kelley '16 of Meriden was one of the inductees. Kelley's major is Elementary Education and Mathematics.

"The Kappa Delta Pi Induction is a celebration of our teacher candidates' perseverance, commitment and excellence in the classroom and the community. It always brings families on campus to share in the accomplishments of our next generation of educators," said Professor Ann Anderberg.

Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education, was founded in 1911 at the University of Illinois in order to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. For over a century, the society has consistently gown, starting with a local chapter to become the international organization it is today, with an initiated membership that exceeds 1.2 million.
