Eastern Student Leah Slawinowski Presents Research at Psychological Science Night

2015 Dec 15

Twenty-nine exemplary psychology students from Eastern Connecticut State University presented their research on Dec. 11 at the department's annual Psychological Science Night.

Among the students was Leah Slawinowski '17, who majors in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. Mentored by Psychology Professor Joe Dracolby , Slawinowski's poster presentation was titled "The Relationship between Sleep Quality, Academic Performance, and Happiness among College Students."

"Research takes classroom experience and applies it to tangible, practical work," said Psychology Professor Carlos Escoto, faculty mentor to many student researchers. "The presentation of the research is also important," he added, speaking to the communication and organization skills needed for an effective presentation.
