Eastern Student Mikhela Hull Presents at Northeastern Political Science Association Meeting

2018 Jan 8

Four political science majors from Eastern Connecticut State University presented original research at the Northeastern Political Science Association meeting this past November in Philadelphia.

Among the students was Mikhela Hull '18 of Clinton, who majors in Political Science and Sociology and gave a presentation titled "Explaining Child Protection Policy Failure."

"My experience at the conference was extremely rewarding," said Hull. "I was very nervous to present because I had never presented my own research before, but my professor and the other students I attended the conference with really helped calm my nerves." She continued to boast about the event, saying, "I received great feedback from the chair and the discussant on my panel that has helped me expand my research even further. I love that Eastern offers opportunities such as these to undergraduate students."

The meeting afforded undergraduate students an opportunity to present their own independent research in front of a professional crowd. The students were mentored through the process by Eastern Political Science Professor Nicole Krassas.
