Eastern Student Rachel Scrivano Presents Research at Psychological Science Night

2015 Dec 15

Twenty-nine exemplary psychology students from Eastern Connecticut State University presented their research on Dec. 11 at the department's annual Psychological Science Night.

Among the students was Rachel Scrivano '17, who majors in Psychology and English. Mentored by Psychology Professor Jenna Scisco, Scrivano's poster presentation was titled "How Students' Body Sizes are Related to Perceptions of a Female Professor."

"Research takes classroom experience and applies it to tangible, practical work," said Psychology Professor Carlos Escoto, faculty mentor to many student researchers. "The presentation of the research is also important," he added, speaking to the communication and organization skills needed for an effective presentation.
