2016 May 19

Every year, the Eastern Writers Guild, a student-run club at Eastern Connecticut State University, publishes "Eastern Exposure," a student literary journal that showcases fiction, poetry, plays, scripts and other types of creative writing.

Rachel Scrivano '17 of Cromwell, who majors in Psychology and English, is featured in this year's journal. Scrivano's five pieces are titled "Tennessee Aquarium 2003," "The First Time," "Think Of," "Midnight Craw Through the Forest of Forgotten Fruit" and "Katherine."

The Eastern Writers Guild is advised by Dan Donaghy, professor of English. Members carefully select the work that is included in each issue of "Eastern Exposure" during the fall semester, and publish it during the spring semester. The goal of the Writers Guild is to promote creative expression among the student body by holding cultural and literary events. They create an open forum for individuals interested in writing and literature.
