Eastern Student Sydney Batchelder of Griswold Attends National Conference on Undergraduate Research in North Carolina

Ten Eastern Connecticut State University students presented at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in Asheville, NC, from April 7-9.The conference was established in 1987 and is dedicated to promoting undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activity in all field of study.

Sydney Batchelder '16 of Griswold was one of the attendees. Batchelder majors in Psychology. Batchelder's research project was titled "Shame, Vulnerable Narcissism, and Social Anxiety."

Professor Carlos Escoto, undergraduate research and creative activity coordinator at Eastern, chaperoned students on the NCUR trip. "The students got a lot out of the conference," he said. "The students' presentations were great and they all sat in on each other's. The trip had a great sense of comradery."
