Eastern Warriors Announce Krista Petersen of Wallingford as 2017-18 Women's Soccer Team Pick

The Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors recently named twenty-seven students to the 2017-18 women's soccer team.

Among the athletes is Krista Petersen '18 of Wallingford. Petersen's major is Elementary Education and her position on the team is back-field.

"I hope that my teammates and I will have a successful season this year by winning our conference tournament and making it to the NCAA tournament, which is a goal that I have always had and worked hard for," said Petersen. "I love being on this team because it's a great opportunity to do what I love daily with a group of ladies who I truly care about. This sport has brought me a handful of best friends, a sense of what it means to be dedicated and passionate about something, and a lifetime of memories."

Some of the goals and objectives of the team include becoming LEC seasonal and tournament champions, being undefeated at home and earning an average GPA of 3.3.

By placing its highest priority on the overall quality of the liberal arts educational experience, Eastern's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation seeks to integrate its programs and goals with academic and developmental objectives and to assure the assimilation of student-athletes into the general student body.
