Eastern's Kayla Labrecque Receives Goalkeeper-of-the-Week Award

2017 Oct 24

Eastern Connecticut State University women's soccer player Kayla Labrecque of Westhampton, MA, received the Little East Conference (LEC) Goalkeeper-of-the-Week Award for the week of Oct. 15. This is her first selection this year, and her third in the last two seasons. Labreque is a Physical Education major.

The junior has been crucial to the Warrior's push for first place in the LEC. Against Keene State College this past week, Labreque recorded her second shutout in as many starts against the Owl's. The shutout helped extend the Warrior's regular-season unbeaten streak in the LEC to 23 games, and lowered her goals allowed per attempt to 1.10 - now the second best in the conference.

Labreque is in her second year as the starting goalkeeper. If able to win the last two LEC contests, the team will complete its third straight season of unbeaten conference play. They have won the conference championship the last two seasons. On the year, the Warriors are 6-6-3.
