Eastern's Megan Lasto of Orange Repeats as Rookie Swimmer-of-the-Week

During the week of Nov. 5, Eastern Connecticut State University Megan Lasto of Orange, CT, received the Little East Conference (LEC) Rookie Swimmer-of-the-Week Award for the second week in a row. Lasto's major is Visual Arts.

Paired with her sisters, Mollee and Maggie, as well as junior Amber Albe of Wallingford, Megan led the Warriors to a victory in the 200 medley relay, while also winning three individual events. She also took second place at the Louise Goodrum Invitational, which was hosted by the University of Massachusetts.

The LEC was established on April 28, 1986 as a single sport league by six public institutions located throughout New England. The LEC member men's and women's basketball teams commenced play in 1986-87 with double round-robin regular season and six-team championship tournaments. The LEC has since become a multi-sport league with eight primary members, six affiliate members and 19 championships.

Eastern offers a broad-based, Division III athletic program aimed at safeguarding the amateur aspects of the various sports and maintaining the proper perspective of athletics within Eastern's academic mission.
