Eastern's Tarchee Brown of Vernon Selected as LEC Basketball Player-of-the-Week

Eastern Connecticut State University student Tarchee Brown '18 of Vernon received the Little East Conference (LEC) Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week Award for the week of Nov. 19. This is the tenth individual award of Brown's career. Brown's major is Sociology.

Brown has been the most impressive player on a Warrior's roster that started 5-0 for the first time in eight years. Through those five games, the senior guard is averaging 21.4 points per game, 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 52 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from three-point range.

Brown has excelled this season during tournament play. At the WPI tournament against Dean College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, he averaged 17 points along with 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Eight days later, Brown concluded the Colby College Classic by dropping 25 points, hitting 17 of 28 shots. The Warriors won both tournaments, with Brown named tournament MVP at both events.

The Little East Conference (LEC) was established in 1986 as a single-sport league by six public institutions throughout New England. The LEC has since become a multi-sport league with eight primary members, six affiliate members and 19 championships.
