Jasdeep Sandhu of Bridgewater Enrolls at Eastern Connecticut State University

2011 Oct 12

Jasdeep Sandhu, a resident of Bridgewater majoring in Business Administration, is attending Eastern Connecticut State University this fall as a member of the freshman class.

"We are pleased that Jasdeep has decided to attend Eastern and has the opportunity to experience the benefits of our liberal arts education while enjoying student life on our beautiful campus," said Christopher Dorsey, acting director of admissions at Eastern Connecticut State University. Dorsey notes that Eastern freshmen come from 164 of Connecticut's 169 towns, from 24 other states and from 48 other countries.

Founded in 1889 as a two-year normal school training elementary schoolteachers for jobs in Connecticut schools, Eastern has grown to become a comprehensive, master's degree-granting institution of more than 5,600 students recognized by such publications as U.S. News and World Report and the Princeton Review.

More than 60 percent of students live on campus, enjoying the small classes, 70 student clubs and vibrant campus culture found at Eastern. Focusing on undergraduate education as Connecticut's only public liberal arts university, the University combines a strong liberal arts curriculum with experiential learning opportunities - internships, student research and community service - to prepare graduates for successful careers in a variety of professional fields.

Eastern Connecticut State University is the state's only public liberal arts university, serving 5,600 students each year.
