Local Eastern Connecticut State University Student Kathryn Harner of Oxford Participates in Phoenix New Play Series

Students from Eastern Connecticut State University's Performing Arts Department performed shorts from the Phoenix New Play Series on March 12. This year's new play consisted of three short plays.

Kathryn Harner '11 of Oxford participated in the event. Harner is majoring in English.

The Phoenix New Play Series are rehearsed readings of new plays. Ellen Brodie, professor/director of theatre, has organized this year's series with the help of Shane Kegler, a senior theatre major from Mansfield Center and president of Eastern's Drama Society.

Eastern Connecticut State University is part of the Connecticut State University (CSU) system and is the state's public liberal arts university. Eastern serves more than 5,600 students each year on its Willimantic campus.
