Olivia Beaullan-Thong of Hamden Participates in Eastern's Freshman Showcase

Eastern Connecticut State University's Performing Arts Department and Drama Society presented the Freshman Showcase on Dec. 4 in the Harry Hope Theatre.

Olivia Beaullan-Thong of Hamden participated in the event. Beaullan-Thong is majoring in Theatre.

The showcase represented work done by freshman and sophomore theatre majors. Scenes were directed by Theatre Professors J.J. Cobb, Jerry Winters, Leigh Cremin and Alicia Bright Holland.

The showcase is a result of a Title III grant awarded to Cobb and David Pellegrini, chair of the Performing Arts Department, through the U.S. Department of Education. Maggie Martin, professor of social work, facilitated the grant. Its purpose is to encourage retention and graduation rates within the major programs.
