Patrick Kmiecik of East Lyme Recognized for Merit Within Eastern Connecticut State University's Communication Department

The Communication department at Eastern Connecticut State University recently held its Spring 2015 "Celebration of Excellence" ceremony. The event, held annually, seeks to give special distinction to students who have continued to go above and beyond the call of duty.

Patrick Kmiecik '15 of East Lyme received recognition at the event. Kmiecik's major is Communication. Students received awards for their work in radio, television, journalism, research or public relations. Kmiecik was recognized for Excellence in Journalism.

Professor John Hale, chair of the Communication Department, said of this event, "External validation is always a positive boost for a program. Through this event, the Communication Department supports students who exemplify excellence in our program."
